TOPSHAM — Omer “Tulip” Ouellette, 88, of Garden Drive, Topsham, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Mid Coast Senior Health Care in Brunswick.

He was born in Brunswick on January 15, 1925 a son of Cyprien and Marieanne Plourde Ouellette. He graduated from St. John’s School, class of 1940 in Brunswick and attended Brunswick High School.

On May 28, 1949 he married Priscille Lebel at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Tulip worked as a Ship Fitter at Bath Iron Works, retiring in 1990. He also was manager at the Bowling Bowl in Brunswick for 35 years.

He was a track official at Bowdoin College, for 30 years and enjoyed all sports, including swimming.

Tulip was a communicant of All Saint’s Parish, St. John the Baptist Church and a 4th degree member of the Sekenger Council #1947 Knights of Columbus, in Brunswick.

He is predeceased by 3 sisters, Claire, Simonne and Cecile; and 2 brothers, Philip and Robert Ouellette.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Priscille Ouellette of Topsham; three sons, Ronald Ouellette and his wife Maureen of Townsend, MA, Gerard Ouellette and his wife Doris of Topsham, and John Paul Ouellette and his wife Melissa of Topsham; a daughter, Julie Leach and her husband Gary of Westboro, MA; one brother, Anthony Ouellette of Topsham; a sister-in-law Sylvia Ouellette of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Mark, David, Adam, Brian and Amelia Ouellette, Laurina, Allison and Stephanie Leach; several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visiting hours. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am Wednesday, April 24th at All Saint’s Parish, St. John the Baptist Church, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
