SOUTH BRISTOL — A South Bristol man was killed at 12:31 a.m. Sunday when his 1995 Jeep Cherokee rolled over at least once after hitting several trees and a rock wall.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said John Galloni, 55, was killed instantly in the single vehicle crash as he was heading south on Route 129 in South Bristol, about a mile south of the intersection with Harrington Road.

Sheriff deputies were on the scene within four minutes and determined that Galloni, who was not wearing a seat belt, had been killed instantly. Deputies said speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

Deputies are still investigating the cause of the crash and are interviewing people who may have information about Galloni’s whereabouts in the hours before his death.
