Paul Madore, a landlord with properties in Augusta, has already connected one of his buildings at 92 Northern Avenue to natural gas, thanks to Summit.“The building’s heating facilities were old, no longer efficient and needed to be replaced so when Summit arrived, it was perfect timing.”

After meeting with James Helma, a Summit sales representative, Madore learned about the rebates and incentives, along with the many benefits of natural gas.

Since making the switch to natural gas, his savings are more than 35-40% compared to his old bill and he is using the most environmentally-friendly fossil fuel possible, so it’s better for the environment. He also doesn’t have to stress about scheduling oil deliveries because natural gas is always “full.”

“When I looked at my bill I couldn’t believe the cost savings.” He added, “I really appreciate the effort from Summit to bring natural gas to this region and allow me to make the switch. I think it was a bold move for Summit Natural Gas to take on this challenge (bringing natural gas to the Kennebec Valley region), but they’ve delivered on their word,” said Madore.

As an apartment owner, Madore was excited to learn that natural gas equipment is easier to repair and maintain which will lead to lower maintenance costs. Making the switch to natural gas for his properties has also been more attractive to new tenants.
