WEST BATH — John T. Vigue, 70, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

He was born in Portland on Nov. 1, 1942, the son of John H. and Hannah M. (Prescott) Vigue. He graduated from Kennebunk High School. John was employed for many years at W.T. Grants working at several of their locations throughout Maine and Massachusetts. He owned and operated Vigue’s Furniture in West Bath, Brunswick, Gardiner and Winthrop. On Dec. 10, 2004 he married Kathleen R. Swift.

John was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Brunswick, the Kora Temple Shriners in Augusta and the Brunswick Lodge of Elks.

He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, boating, snowmobiling, playing poker — especially Texas Hold’em — and his daily game of cribbage with his mother.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen R. Vigue of West Bath; his mother, Hannah M. Vigue of Brunswick; two sons, John A. Vigue of Woolwich and Timothy J. Vigue and his wife, Debbie of West Bath; two daughters, Michelle J. Jensen of Windham and Cheryl J. Burks of Suffolk, Va.; three stepsons, Allen Landel of Boston, Mass., Andrew Landel of Topsham and Anthony Landel of Hudson; 11 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6- 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Foreside Cemetery in Cumberland.
