BELFAST — Police say a 62-year-old Maine woman has died after her car was struck by a shuttle bus.
Belfast police say the car driven by Jayashree Kalmath of Camden was struck by a private charter bus at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday when she failed to yield while turning from a side street onto Route 1 in Belfast.
Authorities tell WABI-TV that it took more than two hours to get her out of her car using the Jaws of Life, and that she died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
