BRUNSWICK — Bruce David Marston, 89, of Brunswick, passed away on the 21st of September 2013 in Brunswick.

He was born in Brunswick on April 17, 1924, to Gladys and Delbert Marston in the Brice Booker home on Potter Street. He attended the Goodwill School in Hinkley, Maine and Brunswick High School.

Bruce was a World War II veteran having served in the theatres of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.

He and Ellen were married for 65 years and had 4 children, Susan Spurling (Royce) of Waynesville, NC, Marilyn Dill (Ric) of Jacksonville, FL, Tom Marston of Carnation, WA, and Serena Whitcher (Paul) of Windham, ME. He was also the proud grandfather to 23 grand, great-grand, a great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his sister Nancy Marston of Plastow, NH, and five nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Ellen and a brother Kenneth Marston.

Bruce was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was deeply loved by all who knew him.

For the past 2 1/2 years he volunteered for the Brunswick Respite Care Program where his love and good humor lit up the lives of those with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers.

Services will be Wednesday, September 25th at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pinewood Drive, Topsham. Military honors will follow at the graveside service at Riverside Cemetery, River Road, Brunswick.
