AUGUSTA — Donald Allen Marston, 72, of Augusta, Maine, died September 23, 2013, at MaineGeneral Hospital in Augusta.
He was born May 17, 1941, in Portland, Maine, the son of Mildred H. Marston and Willis Earl Marston.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Melissa Dunn. He is survived by his sister Judith Koch and her husband George of Madison, Conn., and also by his niece Ellen Aub and husband Theodore, nephew Jonathan Brown and their children Samantha and Joshua Romano, and Thea and Anita Aub.
Donny attended Boothbay Baptist church during his school years and graduated from Boothbay Region High School class of 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1964, achieving the rank of SP5. After an honorable discharge he worked at R.R. Donnelly in Old Saybrook, Conn., Pratt Whitney in Middletown, Conn., Crooker Construction in Bath, Maine, and Wal-Mart in Brunswick, Maine.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Oct. 4 at 1 p.m. at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road in Augusta, Maine. Friends and family are welcome.
A special thank you from the family to cousin, Ford Powell and Judy for all their many kindnesses, love, and support during Don’s many illnesses.
