NEWINGTON, N.H. — New Hampshire Air National Guard officials will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday to celebrate completion of a new squadron operations building at the Pease Air National Guard base.

The new energy-efficient building will serve as headquarters for the 64th Air Refueling Squadron and the 157th Operations Group.

Major General William Reddel, adjutant general of the New Hampshire National Guard, and Col. Paul Hutchinson, commander of the 157th Air Refueling Wing, will host the event, which will be attended by Gov. Maggie Hassan.

Members of the 157th currently fly eight refueling aircraft and are preparing to take on 12 state-of-the-art tankers in 2018. Pease last spring bested a field of 88 competitors nationwide to be awarded the new KC-46A tankers. The new refueling tankers will replace the Eisenhower-KC135 tankers at a base considered to be a strategic location for midair refueling demands.
