OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Abigail Dubois had 19 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday night as fourth-seeded Old Orchard Beach topped 13th-seeded Boothbay Region 59-46 in a Western Class C girls’ basketball preliminary-round game.
Kelsey Custeau and Mackenzie Rague added 16 points apiece, and Haley Plante had six points and nine assists for Old Orchard (14-5).
Morgan Crocker scored 23 points for Boothbay Region (7-12), which cut into a 27-14 halftime deficit with a 21-13 third-quarter run. Rague went 6 of 8 from the line in the fourth quarter to help the Seagulls put it away.
JOHN BAPST 33, MEDOMAK VALLEY 32: Karrie O’Donnell hit a 3-pointer with less than 40 seconds to play to lift the 10th-seeded Crusaders (10-9) over the seventh-ranked Panthers (10-9) at Waldoboro in an Eastern Class B prelim.
O’Donnell finished with 10 points and Maegan True had 12 for John Bapst, which trailed 23-12 at halftime but got back into it with a 14-5 run in the third quarter.
Sophie Cohen scored 12 points for Medomak Valley.
GARDINER 61, CAMDEN HILLS 52: Ally Day scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the No. 9 Tigers (12-7) over the No. 8 Rams (11-8) at Rockport in an Eastern Class B prelim.
Rachel Quirion added 13 points and six rebounds for the Tigers and Abby Dunn scored 12 points and added six rebounds.
Madie Bowman led Camden Hills (11-8) with 19 points and Rachel Pease scored 14 and Charlotte Messer 10.
Gardiner (12-7) advances to play top-seeded Presque Isle on Saturday at the Cross Center in Bangor.
CARRABEC 38, WISCASSET 26: Mickayla Willette and Jessica Vaillancourt combined for 21 points to lead the Cobras (15-4) over the Wolverines (6-13) in a Western Class C prelim at North Anson.
Carrabec led 7-2 at the end of the first quarter and didn’t pull away until the fourth when it outscored the Wolverines 16-9. Willette finished with 11 points and Vaillancourt scored 10, including nine from the free-throw line.
Alecia Faulkingham led Wiscasset with 12 points.
MADISON 59, TRAIP 48: Cristie Vicneire scored 19 points, including 11 of 15 from the free-throw line, to lead the Bulldogs (13-6) over the Rangers (6-13) at Madison in a Western Class C prelim.
Alex Jarvais added 15 points for the Bulldogs and Kirsten Wood grabbed 11 rebounds and had five assists. Kendra Kagiliery led Traip with 13 points.
