AUGUSTA — Warsame Mohamed and Wilson MacMillan each scored 15 points at second-seeded Hyde rolled to a 69-35 win over Seacoast Christian in a Western Class D boys’ basketball quarterfinal Saturday morning at the Augusta Civic Center.
Seventh-seeded Seacoast Christian (11-9) kept it close for a while, thanks to a hot start by Isaac LaCroix, who scored 12 of his 15 points in the first quarter. Seacoast trailed only 29-24 at halftime, but Hyde (17-2) outscored the Guardians 25-4 in the third quarter, paced by Mohamed’s seven points.
Akim Sanni added 13 points and Evander Lenardson finished with 10 for Hyde, which will play No. 6 North Haven in the semifinals on Wednesday.
NORTH HAVEN 42, GREENVILLE 36: Aidan Emerson scored 15 points, and Ethan Mao got six of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as the sixth-seeded Hawks (17-2) held off the third-seeded Lakers (15-4) in a Western Class D quarterfinal.
North Haven also got 10 points from Avery Waterman. Matt DiAngelo paced Greenville with 15 points, and Howard Stone chipped in with 14.
