At 7 p.m. on Sunday, Standish Fire-EMS received a call from a passerby on Pequawket Trail (Route 113) reporting a garage fire on Watchic Manor Road, Chief Brent Libby said.

Upon arrival, crews found a single story 44-by-48-foot ranch-style home with heavy fire in the attached garage. Crews were able to attack the fire from the outside and inside the residence. The fire extended from the attached garage into the attic but was contained there. The remainder of the home suffer smoke and water damage, Libby said.

Water was supplied by tank trucks filling from a nearby brook.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting the investigation and will continue through Memorial Day. Libby said Sunday the fire didn’t appear to be suspicious.

Mutual aid on scene was provided by Windham, Limington, Gorham, Baldwin, Buxton and Hollis. Stations were covered by Raymond, Hollis and Sebago. There were no injuries, Libby said.
