CAPE ELIZABETH — Ashley Tinsman hit a three-run homer to tie it and Tess Haller followed with a homer to end it Saturday as top-ranked and undefeated Cape Elizabeth scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun fourth-seeded Yarmouth 9-8 in a Western Class B softball semifinal.

Yarmouth (11-7) stretched a 4-3 lead to 8-3 in the top of the seventh on solo home runs by Catherine Thompson and Abigail Neilsen and a two-run homer by Monica Austin.

In the bottom of the inning, Cape Elizabeth put its first three batters on, then scored twice on infield outs to pull within 8-5. Ashley Tinsman tied it with a three-run homer and Tess Haller followed with a walk-off homer.

SCARBOROUGH 8, BONNY EAGLE 2: Brenna Kent and Alyssa Williamson each had a double and a pair of singles as the top-seeded Red Storm (18-0) cruised by the fifth-ranked Scots (13-6) in a Western Class A semifinal at Scarborough.

Megan Murrell added a single and a fourth-inning home run, and Brittany Plowman had a pair of singles for the Red Storm.

Williamson allowed two runs on three hits in 42/3 innings for Scarborough.

Kelsy Gaddy had a solo homer in the seventh for Bonny Eagle.

LACROSSE

YARMOUTH 9, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 7: The top-seeded Clippers (11-2), trailing by two goals at halftime, scored three quick goals early in the second half and went on to edge the fifth-ranked Panthers (5-9) in an Eastern Class B semifinal at Yarmouth.

Shannon Fallon had five goals and an assist, Grace O’Donnell added two goals and two assists, Molly McGuire also scored, and Mary Kate Gunville made five saves for Yarmouth.

Alex Wahlstrom scored three goals, and Abby McKelvy had two goals and an assist for NYA.

THORNTON ACADEMY 11, SCARBOROUGH 6: Katie McCrum and Anna Wuerthner scored three goals apiece for the second-seeded Trojans (11-3), who scored the first eight goals of the second half to erase a 5-3 halftime deficit against the third-ranked Red Storm (8-6) in a Western Class A semifinal at Saco.

Thornton trailed 5-2 in the first half, then held Scarborough scoreless for nearly 30 minutes while taking an 11-5 lead.

Carly McKenna and Faith Sinclair chipped in two goals apiece, and McCrum and McKenna also had one assist each for Thornton.

Kaitlin Prince had two goals and an assist for Scarborough.

CHEVERUS 14, WINDHAM 8: Alex Logan scored four goals, and Meredith Willard added three goals and an assist as the top-ranked Stags (11-3) downed the fourth-seeded Eagles (9-5) in an Eastern Class A semifinal at Portland.

Mary Kate Walsh and Abby Biegel each collected two goals, and Sadie Lyons finished with a goal and four assists for the Stags, who led 9-4 at halftime.

Anne Veroneau and Elyse Caiazzo added a goal and an assist for Cheverus.

Samantha Greenlaw scored four goals for Windham.

MASSABESIC 11, MARSHWOOD 9: Maquila Dimastrantonio scored three goals for the top-ranked Mustangs (13-1), who had seven players score against the fourth-seeded Hawks (9-5) in a Western Class A semifinal at Waterboro.

Rayne Whitten and Delia Sylvain added two goals apiece and combined for three assists for the Mustangs, who led 11-6 with six minutes left.

KENNEBUNK 8, YORK 7: Ali Truman scored with 7:40 remaining and the top-ranked Rams (10-3) held off the fifth-seeded Wildcats (8-6) in a Western Class B semifinal at Kennebunk.
