A Newfield woman was recently honored with an award given by the United Way of York County in recognition of a volunteer who through their exceptional contribution of time, talent and/or financial resources has helped the organization effect long-lasting changes in the community conditions that improve lives, according to the nonprofit. Linda Bishop, left, plant manager at Jagger Brothers Inc., served on the board of directors for United Way of York County from 2007-13 and previously served on the Community Impact Council, Day of Caring Committee and Strategic Planning Task Force. She is active in her community, where she serves as an emergency medical technician. United Way of York County President Barb Wentworth, right, presented Bishop with the award.
