WATERBORO – The York County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a single-car crash in Waterboro on Sunday night on Town House Road.

Chief Deputy William L. King Jr. said a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck went off the road near the intersection with Webber Road and rolled over around 8:30 p.m.

Emergency crews discovered a heavily damaged vehicle in the woods with no driver inside. The driver, 49-year-old Dana J. Allen, had been ejected from the truck.

Rescue personnel said Allen was conscious and alert when they found him. He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with unknown injuries.

King said Allen was traveling south on Town House Road when he veered off the road and went into a skid. His truck hit several trees before rolling over.

King said speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
