Imagine my surprise to read that Gov. LePage has met at least eight times with men who say they represent a handful of people who consider themselves “sovereign citizens.”

When the governor was first elected, I requested a meeting on behalf of myself and the volunteer leaders of AARP Maine. He refused to meet with us, and we represent nearly 230,000 Maine seniors.

The “sovereign citizens” meetings show just what the governor’s top priorities really are.
