HARPSWELL — Herman N. Brown, 75, of West Cundy’s Point, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, with friends and family at his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Phippsburg, Feb. 20, 1939, the son of Raymond C. and Elsie E. Smith Brown. He was a graduate of Morse High School.

He was also an accomplished industrial draftsman and designer and worked in that capacity for such companies as BIW and Wright-Pierce in his home state of Maine as well as working in Seattle, WA, Colorado, Washington state and Louisiana designing water systems.

Herman’s first love was the sea and lobstering. His rugged little boat “Gail Warning” was a familiar and welcomed sight on the waters around Cundy’s Harbor and the islands of Harpswell. He and his boat will be very sadly missed.
