A Biddeford man who is charged with setting fires Sunday night in an apartment building in Biddeford is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Wednesday.
Jason McGarey, 40, of 235 Pool St. will appear in Springvale District Court at 1 p.m., said an official at the York County Jail in Alfred, where McGarey was being held on $25,000 cash bail Tuesday night.
McGarey, who is charged with arson and burglary, allegedly broke into a second-floor apartment at 5 Simard Ave. on Sunday night and set several fires.
His former girlfriend, who is the mother of his child, lived in that apartment until recently. No one was injured in the fire.
