I’ve known Democratic U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud for some time, and I consider him a friend.

He respected my service in Vietnam. He clearly takes his position in Congress seriously and works extremely hard to help veterans by securing funding for services for those who cannot commute to the Veterans Affairs health care facilities, and funding to renovate the Bangor VA clinic and to build a new clinic in Lewiston. He doesn’t look for credit for doing things. He just wants to get things done that help.

He takes the time to listen to people and considers all the options before making a decision. His demeanor clearly helps him work with opposing views. That trait will help him find ways to solve the most pressing issues that impact Maine residents.

I’ll be voting for Mike for governor Nov. 4 and encourage all other veterans to consider voting for Mike Michaud.
