It seems to me that the NFL and the media love the violence that happens on the professional football field. Sports commentators glorify the “good hit,” which frequently results in a concussion, leg injury or other damage that requires a player to leave the game.
It appears that one of the goals of many players is to hit the opponent hard enough to put him out of the game. Players who are encouraged to administer excessive violence on the football field help to create a culture of violence that carries over to domestic life.
It is time for the NFL and the media to stop glorifying violence on the football field.
