Southern Maine Community College has two new inductees for its Athletics Hall of Fame. Scott Nappi, a two-time Yankee Small College Conference Player of the Year and program leader in career stolen bases is one of the inductees. Nappi also ranks third in career hits, sixth in career RBI and 13th in career batting average. During his two seasons, the baseball team compiled a 54-25 overall record, which included the 2008 YSCC championship. Nappi, a Portland native, transferred to the University of Southern Maine after his two years at SMCC.

Melissa Sanborn will also be inducted. Sanborn was a YSCC first-team selection in 2008 and 2009. She currently ranks sixth all-time in career home runs, seventh in career runs scored, and eighth all-time in career RBI. During Sanborn’s two seasons, the softball team amassed an impressive 48-18 overall record and two YSCC championships.
