Diversified Communications, a Portland-based media and events company, announced the acquisition of HRM Asia of Singapore on Friday.
The acquisition of HRM Asia, which provides specialty publications, websites, events and business conferences for the human resources industry, establishes an operating division in Singapore for Diversified and adds HR Summit, Asia’s largest human resources event, as well as the HRM Congress series, HRM Magazine and HRM Online to its portfolio.
It is the fifth acquisition for Diversified this year, according to a news release from the company, which brings more than 175 events, online media products and print magazines under its corporate umbrella.
“We are acquiring HRM Asia because it fits well with our model of working across a variety of touch points within a community,” said Matt Pearce, Diversified’s international director, in the release. “We see the opportunity to expand the business both locally and internationally.”
The 27 employees of HRM Asia will join Diversified’s global staff of 850 people and will continue to be led by HRM Asia’s general manager, Kaveri Ayahsamy. On Oct. 9, the company announced it was restructuring to form an international and a domestic division.
The company employs about 175 in its Portland office.
