Democratic Sen. Jim Boyle fought for municipal revenue-sharing, a balanced budget, clean water and many other issues important to his district.

In 2013, his vote to override the governor’s budget veto maintained municipal revenue-sharing, which had been slashed to zero. He helped avoid a state shutdown that would have severely damaged Maine’s credit rating.

In 2014, he again supported funds to defray local costs for police, fire protection and schools by voting to override the governor’s budget veto. Jim Boyle knows that fiscal stability and consistency are important for Maine’s economy and development. His voice secured the fiscal foundation that allows me as state treasurer to calculate and deliver revenue-sharing to towns.

His work also helped us secure 50 percent more bond proceeds than budgeted for 45 capital projects: bridge, highway, education and other investments. Jim Boyle deserves your vote to continue his productive work on local and state issues.
