Democrat Cathy Breen has shown she’s committed to making law enforcement more efficient while simultaneously saving taxpayers’ money. That’s one reason I’m endorsing her for Maine Senate in District 25.

When I was Cumberland County sheriff, Cathy was part of a coalition of government officials who decided to form a regional crime lab in Portland, enabling municipalities such as Falmouth, Yarmouth and Westbrook and the sheriff’s office to pool equipment and expertise. That saved money, manpower and time.

When public safety needed a decision-maker, Cathy Breen was there. She convinced the Falmouth Town Council to approve the lab, and, with the approval of the other communities, it opened.

Cathy Breen will be an outstanding senator. She’s smart, experienced and savvy. I look forward to serving with her in Augusta.

Democratic Rep. Mark Dion
