John Hepburn scored 12 points in the first quarter as Boothbay raced out to a 20-point lead over Wiscasset in a 84-27 boys’ baskeball win at Boothbay Harbor on Monday.

Hepburn finished with 20 points for Boothbay (2-0). Jacob Leonard chipped in 13 points while Nicholas Burge added 12.

Brandon Sprague’s 13 led the Wolverines (0-2).

Gage Barton scored seven points in the fourth quarter as A.R. Gould (1-1) pulled away from Pine Tree (1-1) for a 40-30 win at South Portland.

Barton finished with 15 points. Chris Wilday scored 14 for the Breakers, and J.P. Tashamala added 12.

Eddie Daigneault scored seven points in the first half and Ethan Spaulding sank three 3-pointers to lead Greater Portland Christian (1-2) to a 34-25 halftime lead in a 58-48 win against Temple (0-1) at Waterville.

Spaulding led the Lions with 14 points. Mason Jones added 12 and Daigneault 11.

Patrick Blaisdell and Bradley Smith each scored 10 for Temple.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL: Kiara Carr’s 27 points led Temple (1-0) to a 56-52 win over Greater Portland Christian School (0-3) at Waterville.

Kyrie Austin scored 18 for the Lions, and Clarissa Jones added 17.
