Ethan Winglass, Morse basketball: Winglass scored 25 points as the Shipbuilders (4-0) beat Medomak Valley 62-49 in a game of unbeaten teams. Winglass had nine points in the third quarter, when Morse outscored the Panthers 21-12. In the previous game, Winglass scored 32 points in a 75-63 win over Belfast.


Jack Casale, Cheverus basketball: Casale continued his hot early season shooting as he made eight 3-pointers and finished with 26 points as the Stags beat Massabesic, 49-32. In the previous game, Casale made three 3-pointers and scored 18 points in a 59-51 win over Thornton Academy.

Jared Parent, Brunswick hockey: Parent scored three goals and added three assists in two wins for the Dragons as they began their season with a 3-0 record.

Milani Hicks, Scarborough basketball: In back-to-back games, Hicks scored 29 points in a 66-59 loss to Windham and 25 points in a 47-29 win over Noble. He’s is averaging 22.5 points through four games.


Maria Valente, Gray-New Gloucester basketball: She helped the Patriots (4-0) win three games against quality opponents, scoring 21 points in a 64-46 win at Cape Elizabeth, chipping in with 11 in a 52-49 victory against Fryeburg Academy, then contributing 13 points, 10 rebounds, three block shots and solid defense in a 52-35 win against previously unbeaten York.


Ayla Tartre, McAuley basketball: After scoring 14 points while playing tough defense in a 54-43 win against Gorham, Tartre led the Lions (3-1) with 19 points in a 49-48 victory against Deering.

Hannah Marks, Medomak Valley basketball: Marks scored 25 points in a 67-38 win over Mt. View and followed up with 21 points, including 10 of 10 from the foul line, in a 49-31 win against Morse. She also scored 12 points in a 34-9 win over Erskine Academy.

Bridget Roberts, Greely hockey: After scoring a goal in a romp over St. Dominic, Roberts recorded two goals and an assist in a 4-2 win over Scarborough.
