SANFORD — Lorette Noel, 93, passed away on Dec. 19, 2014 at Sunrise of Reston Assisted Living Facility in Reston, Virginia.

She was born on Oct. 1, 1921 to Patrick and Anna (Turmelle) Chenard in Springvale, where she grew up and attended local schools.

She moved to Virginia in 2009.

Lorette worked in local shoe mills all of her working life.

She married Henry Noel, and they raised a daughter, Beverly.

She was a faithful parishioner of St. Ignatius Church in Sanford, and she loved spending time with her family. Hobbies that she enjoyed were sewing, reading and swimming.

Lorette was preceded in death by: her husband of 36 years; her parents; sisters, Claire Steele and Gloria Chenard; and a brother, Edmond Chenard.

Surviving are: her daughter, Beverly Ryczek and husband Thomas of Herndon, Virginia; her granddaughter, Melissa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, located at 29 Winter St. on Monday, Dec. 29 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford.
