At the beginning of a new year, we all think back over the events of the past year. 2014 was filled with news events that could cause even the most positive thinking of us to feel much anxiety about the future. Wars, strained race relations, debt, political tensions – the list of things we worry about is extensive.

But we need to remember the other side of the past year. We are so fortunate to live in a country that gives an opportunity for success to all people, religious freedom for all, education for all and a chance for each of us to influence the policies of our government.

Each of us can choose to dwell on the very long list of problems we have in our country and what solutions we think would help – or we could spend time recognizing the wonderful gift of our country given to us by our forefathers.

Let’s think about all the wonderful, precious things our country affords us. God bless the USA.
