Emily Esposito scored 25 points Monday night as Gorham toppled Cheverus 66-47 in an SMAA girls’ basketball game.

The Rams (8-1) held a 30-29 halftime lead behind 12 points from Esposito. She added five more in the third as Gorham widened the lead to 45-36.

Kaylea Lundin scored 12 for the Rams as did Laura Holman for the Stags (4-5).

PINE TREE ACADEMY 61, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 18: Alex Goodman scored 12 of her 24 points during the first quarter as Pine Tree (7-1) raced to a 24-3 lead against the Lions (1-6) in South Portland.

Kim Emerson added 13 points for the Breakers.

MESSALONSKEE 47, MT. ARARAT 34: Sophie Holmes has 21 points and 13 rebounds as Messalonskee (6-4) topped Mt. Ararat (4-5) at Topsham.

McKenna Brodeur added nine points and 12 rebounds for Messalonskee, and Halee Flewelling chipped in with nine points and three steals.

Lauren Sturgess and Kate Guerin paced Mt. Ararat with eight points each.

OAK HILL 50, BOOTHBAY 44: Sadie Goulet scored 14 points and Danielle Samson added 12 as the Raiders (7-1) knocked off the Seahawks (8-1) at Wales.

Samson also had six steals and Kayla Veilleux grabbed eight rebounds.

Page Brown paced Boothbay with 15 points. Sara Durgan chipped in with 12.

DIRIGO 85, WISCASSET 36: Jessica Conant scored 28 points as the Cougars (8-0) used a stifling defense to beat the Wolverines (3-7) in Wiscasset.

Kelsey Hutchins added 18 for the Cougars, Laura Henderson had 13 and Emma Leuders 12. Kayla Gordon scored 12 for Wiscasset.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 33, ST. DOMINIC ACADEMY 22: The Mustangs (7-2) held the Saints (1-6) to a total of six points in the second and third quarters en route to a win in Auburn.

Sidney Wilson paced Monmouth with 11 points. Faith Grady scored 16 for St. Dom’s.

CARRABEC 37, MADISON 36: Mickayla Willette scored 13 points, Emma Pluntke added 10 and the Cobras (4-4) survived a late Madison rally to beat the Bulldogs (5-5) in North Anson.

Carrabec led 28-20 entering the fourth period, only to be passed by Madison when Aly Leblanc’s field goal gave the Bulldogs a 36-35 lead with 55 seconds to play.

Pluntke sank 1 of 2 free throws to tie the game before Jerzee Rugh converted the front end of a one-and-one for a 37-36 lead with less than a second left on the clock.

Kayla Bess’ 17 led Madison.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

PINE TREE ACADEMY 51, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 42: J.P. Tshamala scored seven points as Pine Tree (3-5) closed the third quarter on a 16-4 run to take a 38-31 lead into the fourth quarter against the Lions (2-5) in South Portland.

Chris Wilday’s 19 points led the Breakers. Tshamala finished with 16.

David Davol’s 11 topped Portland Christian.
