The speed limit on the Maine Turnpike was restored to normal shortly after 3 p.m. Monday after having been lowered to 45 mph for much of the day.
The speed limit had earlier been restored to normal, but was lowered again at 9:52 a.m. at the request of the Maine State Police, the Maine Turnpike Authority reported on its website.
