YARMOUTH — Allison Frechette scored three times and unbeaten Lewiston held on for a 5-3 win over Yarmouth/Freeport in a girls’ hockey game Saturday at Travis Roy Arena.

Makaela Field added a goal and two assists, and Lauren DeBlois had a goal and an assist for the Blue Devils (15-0-1). DeBlois’ goal, with 4:46 remaining, came just 11 seconds after Katie Clemmer’s second goal of the third period cut Lewiston’s lead to 4-3.

Emily Johnson contributed a power-play goal for Yarmouth/Freeport (8-7-1).

BOYS’ HOCKEY

MESSALONSKEE 10, PRESQUE ISLE 2: Jake Dexter scored four goals and added two assists to lead the Eagles (11-1) to a win over the Wildcats (3-9-1) at Winslow.

Jared Cunningham and Dylan Burton each finished with a pair of goals for Messalonskee. Cole Smith, a freshman, netted his first career goal.

Craig Schiff and Reece McDougall scored for Presque Isle.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 52, WAYNFLETE 35: Abby Dubois scored 19 points to help the Seagulls (10-2) beat the Flyers (7-5) at Old Orchard Beach.

Vanessa Hebert added 11 points for the Seagulls.

Julia Harwood scored 10 points and collected eight rebounds for Waynflete.

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 37, OAK HILL 22: The Mustangs (10-4) made 8 of 10 free throws down the stretch to hold off the Raiders (10-4) at Monmouth.

Sidney Wilson connected on four 3-pointers and scored 20 points for Monmouth.

Brianna Mulherin led Oak Hill with eight points.

CHEERLEADING

REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS: Hermon in Class B, Dexter in Class C and Central Aroostook in Class D captured regional titles at the Eastern Maine championships in Bangor.

The top six teams in Classes B and C and the top eight in Class D advance to the state championships Feb. 7 at the Augusta Civic Center. They’ll be joined by the top six teams from Western Class A, B and C, and Eastern Class A. Those regionals were postponed until Monday.

FRIDAY’S BOYS’ HOCKEY

MARSHWOOD/TRAIP 3, WINDHAM 2: Joe Cohn netted a pair of goals to lead the Hawks (3-8) past the Eagles (4-6-2) at Gorham.

Joe Spinney also scored and Nick Barrett had two assists for Marshwood/Traip. Hawks goalie Alex Weeks made 21 saves.

Tyler Johnson and Zack Callahan each scored an unassisted goal for Windham.
