I was delighted to see the article in the March 13 paper about Internal Revenue Service scams (“Fake IRS agents commit nationwide scam”).
This has happened to me twice. One call was in January saying I had filed fraudulent claims and owed $2,500. I reported this to the authorities and my tax preparer. The caller stated that there was an outstanding warrant for my arrest.
Again, just this past week, another call was received with the same accusation. I again notified the authorities. The people who call speak broken English, are very abusive and threatening.
It should be a bigger story!
