Your March 15 Maine Sunday Telegram front-page story on state pensioners returning to work after retirement (“Are public workers who double dip unfairly criticized?”) was fairly well researched and written, but you missed a whole part of it: the triple dippers!

I suggest you look into retired military with benefits, who then retire from a job with state retirement benefits, and then return to work as triple dippers. I am not against this legitimate practice, but you seem to make educators the ones who make out best with the system.

And the biggest injustice hits those retired teachers who earned and paid for more than enough qualifying federal Social Security quarters, who then get penalized as much as 50 percent of what they rightly earned in federal retirement benefits just because they had taught in Maine!

As usual, there is much more to the story.
