HARTLAND (AP) — Two people escaped serious injury when the float plane they were in flipped over during an attempted landing on Great Moose Lake in Somerset County.

Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Jackson says the pilot, 53-year-old Kenneth Comfort, of Palmyra, was trying to land on the water at about 6:30 p.m. Monday when one of the floats bounced off a wave and the aircraft was flipped by a gust of wind.
