Portland police are investigating an armed robbery Thursday afternoon at a credit union on Brighton Avenue.

Lt. James Sweatt said a lone man entered the University Credit Union at 1071 Brighton Ave. around 2:47 p.m. and showed a black handgun. The robber, who is described as a slender black man, demanded money. No shots were fired and the man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber is described as having dreadlocks tucked under a baseball hat. He appeared to be wearing a false mustache along with sunglasses, a North Face jacket with a hood, pants, sneakers, gloves and a baseball hat with white letters. All the clothing was black.

Police said the man was last seen running through the Taft Avenue entrance of the University Credit Union before fleeing down Taft Avenue.
