Maine State Police are investigating the death of a Parkman man who was found at his home Tuesday night.

A second man found in the house, who has not been identified, was being treated at a Bangor hospital for serious injuries, according to a news release from Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.

David Grant, 61, was found dead at 114 Packard Road in Parkman, which is near the Dexter town line. The State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta conducted an autopsy Wednesday, but the results had not yet been released.

The injured man’s name and the extent of his injuries were not released. McCausland said the man was being treated in the intensive care unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center.

McCausland would not say how Grant died or describe the nature of the unidentified man’s injuries.

“We’re not getting into any details at this point,” McCausland said. “Our goal is to determine the circumstances under which this man died, and that is taking place in a variety of ways, including gathering evidence from the home, interviews and consulting with both the Medical Examiner’s Office and monitoring the injured man’s condition.”
