CRANSTON, R.I. — Braden Camire and Will Palmer combined to throw a no-hitter, but that still wasn’t enough to lift Saco to victory in the New England pool championship of the 9-10 year old Eastern Regional Little League baseball tournament Friday. A sacrifice fly by Ryan Philbrick scored Cam McGonigle in the bottom of the third to give Concord, New Hampshire the only run it needed in a 1-0 victory at Varrato Field.

Saco was able pound out five hits against Concord pitching, but none were able to bring any runs home. An out at the plate ended the top of the fourth just after Concord took the lead, and Saco put two runners on in the top of the fifth but couldn’t bring either across.

McGonigle finished off the game by pitching a scoreless sixth after Brooks Craigue delivered five shutout innings for Concord, which will meet Holbrook, New Jersey in the regional final.
