Death waiting to happen: That’s what I think each time I walk across Tukey’s Bridge.
The barrier between the roadway and the walkway looks so flimsy, I doubt it would stop a motorcycle, much less a tractor-trailer. Quite a contrast between it and the massive one on the new Martin’s Point bridge.
The state of Maine has spent millions on highway projects in the past couple of years. Erecting a safe fence on Tukey’s Bridge protecting hikers and bikers should be a project, too, and one that receives top priority.
