Noella Eva Grant, daughter of Erika and Justin Grant of Kennebunkport, who was born in SMHC’s Birthing Suite, received more than 160 votes for the win.
Winning entries receive either a one-month supply of diapers from the Honest Company or $100 cash. The Grants chose to receive the cash, which they are using to purchase Noella a new car seat.
“SMHC and the Birthing Suite staff are so happy for the Grant family that Noella’s photo received the most votes in the ‘Sunniest Smile’ category,” Birthing Suite Nurse Manager Jan Roberts, RN, was quoted saying in a recent press release. “We received so many entries of beautiful babies. It’s been exciting to see the new submissions coming in every day.”
“I am so proud of Noella for winning SMHC’s Sunniest Smiles contest,” Erika Grant was quoted saying in the release. “Her smile brightens up my world every day. She brings such joy to our family and I couldn’t picture a day without her. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful baby girl. Smiles surely are contagious!”
SMHC launched the Oh Baby! Photo Contest in February. The online competition features five stand-alone contests lasting two months each: Sleeping Beauty, Chubbiest Cheeks, Sunniest Smile, Best Bedhead and Messiest Eater.
The “Best Bedhead” contest opened on Aug. 1. To enter, parents should visit www.smhc.org/baby and click on the Oh Baby! icon to get contest details and upload photos. Photos may also be submitted via Instagram using #smhcohbaby. Anyone can go to the website to view the entries and cast votes for their favorite picture.
All entries are eligible to win the grand prize – a professional photo shoot with their baby or $500 cash.
