BIDDEFORD — Irene T. Goulet, 87, of Biddeford, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility, where she was treated like family.

She was born March 30, 1928, in Biddeford, a daughter of Amedee and Delina (Roy) Marcoux, and was educated locally.

On Aug. 2, 1947, she married J. Roger (V8) Goulet at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.

Irene had been employed at York Manufacturing and Corning Components. She later worked at Maine Cleaners until she was in her mid-70s.

Despite the untimely death of her husband from a snowmobile accident in February of 1973, she led a rich and fulfilling life.

She enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years, where she spent her time there with friends and family playing golf (where she shot a hole in one once), going to the beach, and shooting pool at Americana Cove in St. Petersburg, where her winter home was located. She also enjoyed travel to places such as Hawaii, the Caribbean, Spain and California.

Irene could also often be seen during the summer months in Maine sitting on the riding lawnmower, mowing her children’s lawn on the property she loved off the Saco River in Biddeford. It was an activity she enjoyed until her illness.
