SACO — Sophia Pompeo scored from Becca Archer with 3:19 left in overtime Thursday night to give Cheverus a 3-2 victory against Thornton Academy in an SMAA field hockey game.

Archer scored with 18:38 left in the first half from Emily Michaud to give Cheverus (4-0) a 1-0 lead.

Grace Decker answered 7:24 later to tie it and Libby Pomerleau scored from the top right of the circle to give Thornton (3-1) a 2-1 halftime lead.

Hannah Abbot scored from Abby Ford with 12:06 left in regulation to tie it.

KENNEBUNK 3, FREEPORT 0: Britney Gregoire scored twice for the Rams (3-0) against the Falcons (1-2) at Freeport.

Gregoire had a goal in each half, and Katy Ross added a second-half goal.

Morgan Karnes stopped 14 shots for Freeport. Liv Kudas made two saves for the Rams.

YORK 5, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2: Lily Posternak had three goals and an assist for the Wildcats (3-0), who built a 3-1 halftime lead and defeated the Raiders (2-1) at Fryeburg.

Izzy Bretz had a goal and two assists, and Devon Datsis added a goal and an assist for York.

Joelle Buzzell scored twice for Fryeburg, the second goal from Mariah Davis.

Bridget Fahey stopped eight shots for the Raiders. Three goalkeepers combined for four saves for the Wildcats.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Cara Waltz scored as the Patriots (2-2) handled the Capers (0-4) at Gray.

DEERING 5, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: The Rams (2-2) took a 4-0 lead and cruised past the Red Riots (1-3) at South Portland.

Lili Kien scored in the first half for Deering. Emily Krabbe, Kaytlin DiBiase, Piesy Chhorn and Kerry Wells each scored in the second.

Bonge Lako countered with a second-half goal for South Portland from Amelia Pape.

Lillian Frager for the Rams and Grace Chitham for the Riots each recorded nine saves.

TRAIP ACADEMY 5, WELLS 0: Amelia Sullivan, Madison Andrews, Molly Humiston, Katie Johnson and Kiara Perez scored for the Rangers (3-0) against the Warriors (0-2) at Kittery.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 6, MCAULEY/WAYNFLETE 0: Kiersten Marr scored twice and Savannah Shaw needed one save as the Panthers (2-2) beat the Flying Lions (0-2) at Portland.

Emma Cohen, Linnea Hull, Amber Rose and MacKenzie Sangster also scored.

Kiera MacWhinnie made 23 saves for the Flying Lions.

BIDDEFORD 3, NOBLE 2: Charlotte White scored from Taylor Turgeon with 1:30 remaining in the first overtime as the Tigers (2-1) outlasted the Knights (0-2) at North Berwick.

Kassidy Lessard had a goal and an assist, and Mallory Feenstra added a goal for Noble.

MT. VIEW 3, ERSKINE ACADEMY 2: Megan Mikel scored off a perfect pass from McKenna Gibbs with 49 seconds left in overtime as the Mustangs (2-2) edged past the Eagles (0-4) at Thorndike.

Mt. View took a 2-0 halftime lead on a pair of goals by Reanna Boulay, from Megan Mikel and Michelle Bilodeau.

Michelle Lemlin scored twice in 4:02 of the second half for Erskine.

Alexis Bowman had seven saves for Mt. View. Hannah Burns stopped 15 shots for the Eagles.

MARSHWOOD 1, SANFORD 1: Hannah Costin of Marshwood (2-1-1) tied it from the top of the circle with 10 minutes remaining in the second half against the Spartans (3-0-1) at Sanford.

Elizabeth Helmreich scored from Kyleigh Cote with 21:32 to go in the half to give Sanford a 1-0 lead.
