A newly-released photograph from NASA’s New Horizons mission depicts the mountainous terrain of Pluto as the sun sets over its horizon a few minutes after the spacecraft made its closest approach on July 14, 2015.

According to NASA, the mountains visible in the foreground, which mission scientists have informally named the Norgay Montes, reach up to 11,000 feet high – nearly twice the height of Maine’s Mount Katahdin.
