GORHAM — Kyle King headed in a pass from Gerek Brown following a corner kick four minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie and help Gorham to a 2-0 win over Deering in a Class A South soccer match Thursday.

Gorham (5-0-1) added to its lead with 18 minutes left when Brown scored off an assist from Tyler Richmond.

Trent Bassingthwaite made two saves to record the shutout. Orey Dutton of Deering (3-3) made eight saves.

PORTLAND 1, WESTBROOK 0: An own goal midway through the first half was the difference as the Bulldogs (5-0-2) edged the Blue Blazes (3-3-1) at Westbrook.

Bobby Brittingham secured the shutout with three saves. Westbrook keeper Jacob Brackett had one save.

MARSHWOOD 4, MASSABESIC 0: Zach Wilson, Riley Dinsmore-Patch, Jason Janetos and Eyob Bosse scored for the Hawks (3-3-1) in a win over Massabesic (2-5) at Waterboro.

Sam Leathe recorded the shutout with 11 saves. Massabesic keeper Joshua Castonguay stopped 12 shots.

GREELY 6, FREEPORT 0: Jacob Nason scored three goals and added an assist as the Rangers (3-3-1) rolled past the Falcons (1-5-1) at Cumberland.

Henry Melville had a goal and an assist, and Lucas Watt and Will Pidgeon also scored.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2, WELLS 1: Michael Pitts scored the go-ahead goal off a throughball from Bobby Murray with 14:04 left, lifting the Panthers (5-2) to a win over the Warriors (2-3-1) at Yarmouth.

Wells took the lead 16 minutes into the game on a goal by Liam Bell. NYA tied it 56 seconds into the second half when Pitts scored on a rebound after a saved penalty kick.

Wells keeper Nick Chandler compiled 11 saves. Zack Woods stopped nine shots for the Panthers.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 1, YORK 0: Nathaniel Brindley knocked in a cross from Bryce Hayman four minutes into the game, and the Patriots (4-2-1) held on to edge the Wildcats (3-3-1) at Gray.

John Henry Villanueva made six saves for the shutout.

Ian Hovde and Brett Smith combined for two saves for the Wildcats.

A.R. GOULD 5, CHOP POINT 2: Mouhamed Roone and Kamal Haji-Ali scored two goals apiece to lead A.R. Gould (4-0) to a win over Chop Point (2-3) at South Portland.

Eric Myers also scored for A.R. Gould, and Malacai Beauchamp finished with 13 saves.

Jasser Saenz and Iruzy Castellon scored for Chop Point.
