UNITY — Maine’s annual celebration of rural living is set to go into full swing.
The Common Ground Country Fair puts an emphasis on workshops and conferences about farming, gardening and environmentally conscious practices. The fair is held in Unity.
Saturday’s events include “Ecological & Food Systems Skits and Songs,” “Home Orchard Spraying for Beginners” and “Processing Acorns into Flour Demonstration.”
The fair began on Friday morning and will run until Sunday evening. Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association sponsors the event.
The first Common Ground was held in 1977. The event draws more than 50,000 visitors every year.
