Mike Brennan is about to complete his term as the first popularly elected mayor of Portland since the early 1920s, and he has done so with energy, vision, respect and good humor.

The process by which he was elected, ranked-choice voting, worked as intended by helping to bring a consensus candidate to this important position, and Mike has honored the choice of Portland’s citizen-voters over these past four years.

He has delivered. The city today finds itself in a position that most other cities of our size would look upon with envy. The Portland waterfront today is much closer to a working waterfront – as witnessed by the expansion of Eimskip west of the Casco Bay Bridge – and the City Council passed a much-needed increase to the minimum wage.

I will proudly cast my vote in November for Mike to continue to serve as our elected mayor.
