PHILADELPHIA — Michal Neuvirth stopped 30 shots in his second straight shutout, leading the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night.

Sam Gagner, Claude Giroux and Matt Read scored to lead the Flyers to their 12th straight regular-season home victory over Chicago. The Flyers have not lost to the Blackhawks in Philly during the regular season since Nov. 9, 1996.

The Blackhawks beat the Flyers in the 2010 Stanley Cup final and clinched with a Game 6 win in Philly.

SENATORS 7, BLUE JACKETS 3: Bobby Ryan, Mika Zibanejad and Kyle Turris each had a goal and an assist, Erik Karlsson added a career-high four assists, and Ottawa won at Columbus, Ohio.

Marc Methot, Milan Michalek, Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Mike Hoffman also scored to help Ottawa improve to a 3-0 record on the road for the first time since 2007-08.

Brandon Saad, Boone Jenner and Brandon Dubinsky scored for Columbus, which has dropped its first four games in regulation for the first time in the franchise’s 15-year history.

NOTES

CAPITALS: Alex Ovechkin said he overslept and missed practice Tuesday morning, and that’s why Coach Barry Trotz made him sit out that night’s game against San Jose.

The Capitals said Tuesday that Ovechkin missed the game due to “personal reasons.” Ovechkin spoke to reporters after Wednesday’s practice, saying that he made a mistake setting his alarm clock.
