SACO — Judy Calsing, 59, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at her home.

The daughter of Harry and Linda (Britton) Calsing, she was born in Cleveland, Ohio on Oct. 4, 1956. Judy graduated from E.E. Root High School in North Royalton, Class of 1974.

After high school, Judy earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Capital University, and later earned a master’s degree in mental health nursing from Ohio State University.

Judy was employed by Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio from 1976- 1988. She also worked in private practice, counseling youth. She enjoyed teaching nursing students and worked with the Division of Aging at University of New England.

Judy’s life passion was to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She found her niche in her church, the Oak Ridge Bible Church, in Biddeford. Her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her church family doing the work of Jesus.

Her hobbies included crocheting and cooking. She was an avid reader and walker. She enjoyed spending time with her friends helping others. Most of all, she loved the Lord and spent years trying to be more like Jesus. She was a foster mom in Southern Maine for several years.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; and her brother, Robert Calsing.

She is survived by: her twin sister, Jan Smith and her husband Ray of Huntington Beach, California; her sister, Barbara Consolo of Tallmadge, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge Bible Church, 5 Washington St., Biddeford. A reception will follow the service at 60 Oak Ridge Road, Biddeford.

Arrangements are under the care of Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco.
