
He was born in Sanford on March 19, 1961, a son of Paul and Pauline (Roux) Legere.
Dennis graduated from Sanford High School in 1979. He then pursued studies at the Maine Maritime Academy, graduating in 1983.
For many years, Dennis was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He then worked as a licensed commercial trucker. An avid sports fan, Dennis had a passion for the Boston Red Sox.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul, who passed away in 2005.
He is survived by: his mother, Pauline Legere of Sanford; and siblings, Steven Legere of Springvale, David Legere of Berwick, Michelle Slack of Wiscasset, and Marcel Legere of Sanford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St., Sanford.
