A Parsonsfield man was arrested and charged with assault on a police officer and other offenses following a domestic disturbance early Saturday at 170 Sokokis Trail in Waterboro.

The York County Sheriff’s Office said that Eric Marshall Olin, 30, was arrested after he broke into a former girlfriend’s mobile home about 1 a.m. and assaulted her and her male companion while they were sleeping.

The companion fled and called police from a neighbor’s home.

Deputies found Olin hiding in the mobile home, where he was subdued and arrested.

While being escorted out of the mobile home, Olin lunged at and knocked down Sgt. Steven Thistlewood, causing an injury to his right knee, according to the sheriff’s office. Thistlewood was treated and released from Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford.

Olin is being held at York County Jail. He also faces charges of assault on the companion and violating conditions of release.
