A 24-year-old Dresden man is in serious condition at Maine Medical Center in Portland after he was thrown from his pickup following a rollover crash Tuesday night.

Adam Peaslee was driving south at 11 p.m. on Middle Road in Dresden in a 1996 Dodge pickup when he lost control, went off the shoulder and hit a rock, flipping the vehicle, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Peaslee, the only person in the truck, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said. He was taken from the scene to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Middle Road was closed for about three hours during the initial investigation.

Police say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash, though additional testing will be needed to confirm that.

Peaslee had been in critical condition but was upgraded to serious Wednesday afternoon.
