SCARBOROUGH — Cheverus jumped to a 10-point lead in the first quarter Tuesday night and outlasted Scarborough 62-58 to remain unbeaten in boys’ basketball.

Jack Casale had a game-high 33 points for the Stags (4-0) and Austin Boudreau added 10.

The Stags (4-0) jumped out to a 17-7 first quarter lead and outlasted the Red Storm (1-3) to remain undefeated at Scarborough.

Jacob Gardner, Emmett Peoples and Andrew Porada each had 12 points for Scarborough (1-3), and Reece Lagerquist chipped in 10.

CAPE ELIZABETH 46, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 33: Quinn Hewitt scored 13 points and the Capers (2-2) built a 19-10 lead in the first quarter in beating the visiting Raiders (1-2).

Finn Bowe added nine points and Marcus Donnolly finished with seven for the Capers.

Oscar Saunders, Scott Parker and Oscar Heras each had five points for Fryeburg.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 50, RANGELEY 47: Eddie Daigneault had six points in the quarter and Jeremiah Hammon and David Davol controlled play as the Lions (1-4) came from behind to down the Lakers (2-3) at Portland.

Mason Jones led the offense for Greater Portland with 17 points, including 7 for 7 from the free-throw line. Daigneault finished with 12 points and Hammond added 12.

Richard Thompson was the top scorer for Rangeley with 15 points.

POLAND 61, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 55: Nathanial Choinard hit all six of his free throws down the stretch as the Knights (3-1) pulled away from the Patriots (1-3) at Poland.

John Fossett was the leading scorer for Poland with 14 points, and Patrick Kuklinski, Caleb Hodgkin and Choinard each added 12.

Kyle Keenan and John Martin each had a team-high 13 points for GNG, John Villanueva had 12 points and Zach Haskell added 10.

SOUTH PORTLAND 65, BONNY EAGLE 38: Jack Fiorini scored 14 points to lead a balanced attack for the Red Riots (2-2) as they pulled away from the Scots (1-4) in the second half at South Portland.

Bonny Eagle was led by Troy Bogdahn, who scored nine points on three 3-pointers.

FALMOUTH 68, YORK 34: Thomas Coyne scored 32 points, dished out five assists and had seven steals to lead the Yachtsmen (4-0) over the Wildcats (1-3) in Falmouth.

Coyne had 14 field goals, including three 3-pointers, and his brother, Colin, added 15 points for Falmouth.

Trevor Labonte scored 14 points to lead York.

GREELY 72, YARMOUTH 57: Jordan Bagshaw and Matt McDevitt combined to hit 15 3-pointers as the Rangers (4-0) ran past the visiting Clippers (3-1) at Cumberland.

Greely took a 39-15 halftime lead and extended its lead in the third quarter before playing its reserves down the stretch.

Bagshaw finished with 27 points, including seven 3-pointers for the Rangers, and McDevitt had 24 points.

Aleksander Medenica led Yarmouth with 21 points.

OCEANSIDE 62, MEDOMAK VALLEY 57: Keenan Hendricks was 5 of 6 from the line during the fourth quarter, and Nate Raye 4 of 4 as Oceanside (4-0) converted 13 of 15 free throws to pull away from the Panthers (2-2) in Rockland.

Hendricks finished with 22 points, Nick Mazurek 14 and Raye 11. Nick DePatsy scored 16 for Medomak Valley, including his 1,000th career point. Cam Allaire added 14, and Cale Gee 10.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 41, SACOPEE VALLEY 24: Sam Custeau scored a game-high 12 points for the Seagulls (2-1) as they closed out the game on a 12-2 run to pull away from the Hawks (0-4) at Hiram.

Sacopee was led by Jameson Dehmer with nine points.

WESTBROOK 66, MARSHWOOD 50: Anderson Kavutse scored 12 of his 23 points in the first half as the Blue Blazes (1-3) beat the Hawks (1-3) at Westbrook.

Nemieceo Loureiro added 14 points, Curtis Knapton finished with 13 and Zacari Manoogian had 11 points for Westbrook, which led 20-8 after one quarter.

Benjamin Beers had 13 points for Marshwood.

THORNTON ACADEMY 77, BIDDEFORD 42: The Golden Trojans (4-0) took advantage of balanced scoring, with nine players scoring, as they easily got by the Tigers (0-3) at Saco.

Thornton Academy took a 36-20 halftime lead; Jack Tilley was the leading scorer for the Golden Trojans with 18 points, and Corey Hart added 16.

Jason Vadnais led all players for Biddeford with 11 points while Caleb Ball added 10.

MORSE 50, MT. ARARAT 49: Keegan McDonough hit two free throws with under a minute left for Morse (2-2) as it held off the Eagles (2-2) in Bath.

McDonough scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Morse, which trailed by six at halftime.

Shyheim Ulrickson scored 15 points and hit three 3-pointers for Mt. Ararat.

BRUNSWICK 67, EDWARD LITTLE 35: Caleb Cost scored 14 of his game-high 18 points in the first half as the Dragons (3-1) built a 13-point halftime lead and pulled away from the Red Eddies (1-3) at Auburn.

Corbin Teel added 16 points for Brunswick and Thomas Hanson collected eight assists.

Edward Little was led by Jarod Norcross Plourde with 12 points.

HOCKEY

WATERVILLE 7, CAMDEN HILLS 3: Jackson Aldrich had two goals and two assists to spark the Purple Panthers to the win in Waterville.

Cody Pellerin added two goals for Waterville (3-0) and Justin Wentworth, Michael Bolduc and Andrew Rodrigue each had a goal and an assist. Michael Oliveira and Matt Jolicoeur added two assists each. Nathan Pinnette made 20 saves.

Jonah Cameron, Dan Lydon and James Orne scored for Camden Hills (2-1). Jet Magri stopped 25 shots and Zach Hand made 10 saves.

GREELY 7, MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 1: Aidan Roberts scored a goal and collected two assists to lead the Rangers (2-1) to a win at the Alfond Athletic Center in Kents Hill.

Nick Bowie scored for Maranacook/Winthrop (0-3).

FALMOUTH 4, BIDDEFORD 1: Jack Kidder scored the eventual winning goal three minutes into the second period as the Yachtsmen (3-1) downed the Tigers (2-2) at Family Ice Center in Falmouth.

Brendan Hickey, Lou Mainella and Henry Norris each added a goal for Falmouth and Spencer Pierce made 24 saves for the Yachtsmen.

Ricky Ruck scored for the Tigers to cut the deficit to 2-1 and Biddeford goalies Owen Sullivan and Tom Green combined to stop 30 shots.
